Colonia (CD compilation published by Staalplaat 2002) is a project that implements death as its theme in order to represent the epoch of the colonial age.Death is not a mere event in the epoch - terror or genocide, conflict or destruction - the epoch itself is at stake here, death as time, the age of its reign, death from perspective of faith that encompasses the totality of any being which is founded in metaphysical construct. This striking synthesis of old and new became one of the dominant features of Autopsia’s style, which combined the systems-based approach of American minimalism with an almost archaeological approach to music history. Autopsia excavates the past as if it were a rich quarry to mine.
